Once again, our interface expertise as well as the standard connection to abas ERP were key in the decision: Unnapur decided to implement SMARTCRM. The company, headquartered in Unna, Germany, has been producing technical parts made of polyurethane, for instance, for cash register systems, medical technology or plant engineering.
Previously, sales staff used Microsoft Excel lists to document conversations and visits with customers as well as with prospective customers. This meant that there were neither a central database nor a direct data flow. If sales representatives wanted to find out the current status of a customer, they had to pick up the phone and ask colleagues for information. This laborious and time-consuming data procurement and documentation should belong to the past with the introduction of the CRM system. Indeed, SMARTCRM bundles all customer-related information in a central database which all sales employees can access at any time and gain a current overview. Our CRM system offers Unnapur the optimal base for efficient and targeted sales processes.
Unnapur already uses abas ERP and PROXESS DMS. We offer standard interfaces to both systems, which helped us score in the CRM selection process. The connection to abas is bidirectional, so that customers, suppliers and contacts can be transferred in both directions. In addition, SMARTCRM imports the quotations from the ERP solution and stores them, including the individual items and a PDF document, as an activity in the corresponding customer file. The complete activity history, which includes, for example, visit reports and phone calls in addition to quotations, is a great advantage for the sales staff, because in the future they will have an overview of the complete communication at all times. For this purpose, e-mails are also imported into the CRM system via Microsoft Exchange from the local Microsoft Outlook accounts.
The standard interface to PROXESS DMS enables the transfer of documents stored in SMARTCRM directly to the document management system at the press of a button. Calling up files archived in PROXESS directly from the CRM solution is possible as well.
In addition, Unnapur takes advantage of the CTI connection. If a customer calls, for instance, SMARTCRM uses the CTI function to indicate who is calling before answering. The employee can go directly with one click to the customer file containing the activity history and is immediately informed about who has discussed what with the caller. The current call is also quickly documented in the CRM system. If the call results in appointments or tasks for team members, these can be created or sent immediately via the SMARTCRM.Organizer.
