With SVS Schweißtechnik GmbH, our abas customer base has been expanding. Sales field and back office staff as well as purchasing will be supported by our CRM solution in the future.
The internationally renowned manufacturer in the field of resistance welding technology, located in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, had been a subsidiary of the AEG Group since the 1960s and became independent in 1996.
The decision was made to introduce a CRM solution in order to be able to manage customer-related information, which is not stored in the ERP system abas, in a central location. The sales field employees as well as the ones in the purchasing department should also benefit from this bundling of data in one system.
As abas ERP has been already used by the company, SVS Schweißtechnik chose us in the CRM decision process given our great interface expertise with this ERP system. As a long cooperation partner with well over 100 joint installations, we offer a preconfigured bidirectional standard interface to abas ERP. Using this connection, SMARTCRM will import customers, suppliers, products, quotations, orders, turnovers and contribution margin items as well as open items at SVS Schweißtechnik. The figures are prepared in SMARTCRM and available at any time in a variety of up-to-date evaluations on different levels.
Another standard interface connects our CRM system to the document management system Habel. This allows documents to be transferred directly from SMARTCRM to the DMS and conversely files managed in Habel to be called up in the CRM solution via a button.
If the office staff work from home, SMARTCRM is available to them on their notebooks – even offline. The same applies to the field staff: they, too, can access SMARTCRM via notebook or online via the SMARTCRM.App and thus, from now on, inform themselves about the BI evaluations of the customers they are in charge of, without having to go to the office. The CRM customer file also shows all other customer-related information, such as the complete communication history and visit reports. Since a customer may be cared for by several employees due to different business areas, this central information pool is particularly important for SVS Schweißtechnik. Thanks to it, from now on all employees will know about what have been discussed with their colleagues.
Sales projects are also managed in SMARTCRM. The project file bundles all related contacts as well as the communication with them. This is a major advantage for SVS Schweißtechnik as there are usually different project participants. Quotations are also automatically imported from abas ERP and archived in the file. Follow-up tasks with reminders and due dates as well as overviews of due quotations will facilitate quotation follow-up in the future. The all-round view is completed by features of participating competitors, which the company can assign to customers and projects.
Our CRM solution offers further support thanks to the integrated area search. When field representatives drive to a customer’s, it shows possible destinations within the area. They can then transfer the addresses to Bing Maps with a click and plan the best route there.
Connecting the purchasing department to SMARTCRM was also important to SVS Schweißtechnik. From now on, all supplier addresses and contacts are managed there. SMARTCRM enables extensive classification and the assignment of freely definable features to quickly identify the right supplier for a procurement process. Traceability of the ordering process is ensured by the complete activity history in the supplier file. Our CRM system imports purchasing figures such as purchase order and invoices from abas ERP, provides them for purchasing and makes them available at any time at the press of a button. Since purchasing employees can also view the status of sales projects, they are informed at an early stage about raw materials to be scheduled.
