In the future, SMARTCRM will support office and field sales teams of the EPH elektronik. The company, headquartered in Besigheim, Germany, employs approximately 80 employees and manufactures components for drive technology.
Drumag GmbH, a subsidiary of EPH, has been successfully using SMARTCRM for 6 years. Based on this good experience with our CRM solution, EPH has decided to work with us.
An important goal of the CRM introduction is the optimization of the project and quotation management. EPH works closely to its customers to develop high-tech solutions to match their individual requirements. Development projects at EPH go through various phases over a longer period of time. First a prototype is created and only after its approval does the series production begin. Intensive communication with the customer takes place and several quotations variants may be prepared. Without a central bundling of all these processes, calculations and agreements, a quick and up-to-date overview is difficult. This is how SMARTCRM will provide support in the future: with a glance at the project file structured according to phases, employees are kept up-to-date at all times. This is because involved contacts, important documents and all communication are consolidated there. E-mails are automatically imported into the CRM system via Microsoft Exchange and can be viewed in the complete activity history in both the customer and the project file. Quotation documents are also stored as activities. Overviews on the start screen of the CRM solution, the SMART Board, as well as tasks with due dates and reminders enable sales staff to have an up-to-date overview of their open quotations at all times. Forecast evaluations and the display of open or achieved milestones round off the project management.
Another requirement of EPH is the interface between SMARTCRM and the ERP system SelectLine. In the future, SMARTCRM will use this interface to transfer addresses and contacts as well as figures, such as turnover and order backlog items from the ERP solution. The latter will be analyzed in various BI evaluations within the CRM system and made available at different levels at the press of a button – a huge advantage for the field force who previously did not have optimal access while on the road or when working from home. From now on, however, they can use their notebooks to access the complete CRM database offline and thus also information such as the daily sales trend of their customers.
